Q1. Why are the LG electric ranges being recalled?
A . Some owners of these ranges have reported issues with the operation of their range's controls, including ranges that could not be turned off despite the owner setting the control to the "off" position and/or ranges whose elements heated to a temperature higher than what the control was set at for a sustained period of time. We are taking this action as part of our continued commitment to product safety and to providing the highest quality and service to our customers.

Q2. Have there been any reported injuries?
A . LG has not received any reports of serious injuries or property damage, but the company is working cooperatively with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Canadian safety agencies (Health Canada and the Electrical Safety Authority) to notify LG customers about this program, because it is possible that control failures could result in serious burns and/or household fires.

Q3. Can I continue to use my LG electric range?
A . Yes, if your range has been operating normally. However, if you have experienced any problems with your controls like those described in the press release (see Q1, above), you should immediately stop using the recalled electric range until it is repaired. If you have not experienced these problems, you may still use your electric range, but you must still schedule a free in-home repair.
